ERDAS Internship
Purpose:
- The internship provides the award winner with an opportunity to carry out a small research project of his/her own choice, or to work on an existing ERDAS project as part of a team.
Eligibility:
- Graduate students of photogrammetry and remote sensing.
- Student member of ASPRS
Award:
- An eight-week internship for graduate students in photogrammetry. The selected intern must be able to travel to the ERDAS location to work with ERDAS personnel at facilities in Atlanta, Georgia, or elsewhere, as determined by ERDAS. The internship consists of a stipend of $2,500 plus an allowance for travel and living expenses for the period of the internship.
- This internship is presented by the ASPRS Foundation, with funding provided by ERDAS.
Application:
In addition to the application form and two letters of recommendation, applicants must submit the following:
- An official transcript from each college or university attended. [30%]
- A proposal for the type of research the intern would like to conduct. (The proposal should not exceed 1000 words and should state the significance of the research, the proposed methodology, the expected results and a schedule. [70%].
- Note: Research topics should be in the general area of digital photogrammetry and remote sensing. Topics in an area where ERDAS has a commercial interest will be considered in a favorable light.
Award Selection:
- The selection committee will evaluate each application and apply the weighting factors listed above.
- The applicant who, in the opinion of the majority of the committee, has the highest overall ranking will be designated the recipient.
- Proposals will be evaluated by the ERDAS Internship Committee. Final selection will be coordinated with ERDAS personnel.
