ASPRS Accuracy Standards for Large Scale Maps
In 1987, ASPRS published a booklet in conjunction with ACSM entitled Large-Scale Mapping Guidelines. ASPRS published a supplement to these guidelines in the July 1989 PE&RS (pp. 1038-1040) entitled, "ASPRS Interim Accuracy Standards for Large-Scale Maps."
After review and comment, the document was published again in the July 1990 PE&RS (pp. 1068-1070) entitled “ASPRS Accuracy Standards for Large-Scale Maps.”
The FGDC Geospatial Positioning Accuracy Standards Part 3: National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA) is now considered to represent a more recent enhancement of these standards and is located at:
http://www.fgdc.gov/standards/projects/FGDC-standards-projects/accuracy/part3/index_html
The NSSDA was developed with ASPRS input, and cross-references the prior work done by ASPRS. ASPRS no longer maintains the “ASPRS Accuracy Standards for Large-Scale Maps” but depends on the FGDC NSSDA maintenance process.
