Photogrammetric Applications Division
About
The Photogrammetric Applications Division is focused on all aspects of the application of photogrammetric measurements, interpretation and processes as related to geospatial mapping.
Mission
The mission of the Division is to provide a forum for collection, development and dissemination of information related to the best practices in photogrammetric mapping applications.
General Activities.
The Division meets at all annual Spring conferences, a majority of the fall conferences and periodically via conference call. Membership is open to all ASPRS members. Division activities include: 1) Developing subcommittees and working groups to address specific industry needs related to photogrammetric mapping applications, 2) Sponsoring Special Sessions at the Spring and Fall ASPRS conferences, 3) Holding conference calls and/or webinars to share information and discuss specific technologies or areas of interest. Membership and participation in Division Activities is open to all ASPRS members.
Committees and Working Groups.
The Division currently includes two active committees and one working group.
The Close Range Photogrammetry and Softcopy Photogrammetry committees are currently inactive.

Getting Involved
The Division is currently actively evaluating what role PAD should take regarding new photogrammetry technologies, such as structure in motion applications from imagery collected with Unmanned Aerial Systems or mobile platforms, 3D reconstruction from close range imagery and similar technologies. Members who would like to take a leadership role in developing committees or working groups related to those or other new technologies are encouraged to contact the Division Director or Assistant Director.
