VOLUME 73, NUMBER 12
PHOTOGRAMMETRIC ENGINEERING & REMOTE SENSING
JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR PHOTOGRAMMETRY AND REMOTE SENSING

PE&RS December 2007This month’s cover, provided by Bohannan Huston Inc., shows the high resolution orthophotography data that is used by the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas Departments of Transportation (TxDOT) to support the planning and asset inventory of their districts. These image provide an example of the level of detail, in six inch resolution, that the TxDOT officials of the Dallas/Fort Worth TxDOT Districts are utilizing within their CAD and GIS systems. This massive project covers 17 counties, and 13,716 square miles of aerial photography collected with the Intergraph Z/I Imaging DMC® (Digital Mapping Camera). Three of these sensors were utilized in the digital aerial photography acquisition phase by subcontractors Photo Science and 3001 Inc. Bohannan Huston Inc. uses the Intergraph Photogrammetric suite for the post-processing of DMC imagery. The final orthophotography dataset will be used by TxDOT, and the local government agencies within the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). For more information on the DMC and Intergraph’s photogrammetric workflow, visit http://www.intergraph.com/gdca/earthimaging.asp.
