Teledyne Optech
is pleased to announce
the latest addition to its innovative line of
airborne laser terrain mappers, the ALTM™
Galaxy T1000. This new system combines a
1000-kHz effective ground measurement rate
with Optech’s SwathTRAK™ technology to
create a compact, efficient, and versatile lidar sensor. The new
Galaxy T1000 also includes PulseTRAK™ technology which
enables a truly continuous operating envelope.

URISA
is pleased to announce that it is
now accepting applications for its GIS
Hall of Fame. Nominations are due May
1, 2017. URISA’s GIS Hall of Fame hon-
ors persons and organizations that have
made significant and original contributions to the develop-
ment and application of GIS concepts, tools, or resources, or to
the GIS profession. Anyone may nominate a person or organi-
zation for induction to URISA’s GIS Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame laureates are expected to exemplify vision,
leadership, perseverance, community-mindedness, profession-
al involvement, and ethical behavior. The nomination state-
ment may be of any length, but it must be preceded by a one-
page stand-alone summary and must include testimonials from
three (3) individuals about the nominee and his/her impact or
influence. Email nomination statements to
by May 1, 2017. A committee of past URISA Past Presidents
will review all nominations and make recommendations to the
URISA Board of Directors by mid-June. Presentation occurs at
URISA’s Annual Conference. This honor may not be given ev-
ery year, and in some years there may be multiple recipients.
 2017 honorees will be recognized during the Awards Ceremo-
ny at GIS-Pro 2017: URISA’s 55th Annual Conference in Jack-
sonville, Florida, October 23-26, 2017.
