.
Geo Week is a multi-event collaboration including
participation from MAPPS Winter Conference, International
LiDAR Mapping Forum, and ASPRS Annual Conference to
accomplish a year of geospatial business in just one week.
Each of the three events will retain the distinct educational
programs their respective attendees have come to rely upon for
industry news and information as well as career development.
Various conference pass options are available to allow attendees
to take part in any or all programming and activities. For more
information regarding Geo Week, please visit
AXIS GeoSpatial, LLC
, a national geocapture firm
headquartered in Maryland, has recently acquired Mapping
Resource Group, Inc. (MRG GEO), a geospatial solutions
company with locations in Florida and Virginia. MRG GEO
began providing professional geospatial services in 2001 as
Southern Resource Mapping, Inc., later rebranding as Mapping
Resource Group, Inc., in 2015. Since inception, MRG GEO
has experienced steady growth by continuously leveraging
professional knowledge and cutting-edge technologies to
expand and improve its service portfolio, geographic reach and
new markets. The firm has a particularly strong presence in
the Southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean.
Like MRG GEO, AXIS GeoSpatial also began providing
geospatial services in 2001, and has grown from a staff of
three at its inception to presently employ over 40 individuals
across three locations in Maryland, Delaware and Colorado.
AXIS has maintained a strong foothold in the Mid-Atlantic and
Northeastern regions of the U.S. In 2014, CEO and co-founder
Justin Lahman formed Maryland-based aviation company,
AXIS GeoAviation; making AXIS a full-service geospatial data
collection, processing and mapping firm. AXIS retained MRG
GEO’s sales, map production, and aviation personnel in the
merger, expanding its geographical reach to the entire Eastern
region of the U.S. and adding additional map production
capacity to better serve its clients.
AXIS GeoSpatial sought the merger to capitalize on both
firms’ reputations of technical excellence, quality service and
on-time delivery. The merger allows AXIS and MRG’s clients
greater access to leading-edge High-Definition LiDAR and
imagery acquisition and processing, orthoimagery processing,
topographic mapping, 3D-Modeling, and geospatial map
production services outside of both firms’ respective footprints
in the Eastern U.S. MRG GEO will undergo a rebranding in
the next several months, where it will transition into conducting
business as AXIS GeoSpatial under the parent company’s brand.
