GREETINGS FROM THE STUDENT ADVISORY
COUNCIL (SAC)
T
he new school year is underway! The SAC is currently planning events for
the 2019 joint ILMF and ASPRS Conference in Denver, Colorado. In this
month’s signature page we are highlighting many student conference volunteer
opportunities and and providing information on joining the SAC!
Student volunteers are provided registration waivers and hotel accommodations for the duration of the annual conference.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to ASPRS while becoming more involved in the society. The 2019 volunteering appli-
cations are due November 15, 2018. The application form and additional information can be found at
/
events/student-activities-application.
The SAC is a great way to become more involved in ASPRS. The SAC meets monthly to plan events for the annual confer-
ence, discuss pertinent issues, and network. The SAC is a community of student leaders with a diverse set of positions avail-
able including Deputy Chair, Networking, Communications and Education and Professional Development Councilor positions.
Each new member of the SAC starts in a deputy position and are mentored by another member who has been on the council
for the previous year.
