The Department of Engineering Technology and Surveying Engineering at New Mexico State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Surveying Engineering program.  The applicant must possess an M.S. in Surveying, Geomatics, Photogrammetry, or closely related field.  A  Ph.D. is preferred.  The candidate should be able to teach introductory and advanced classes. Preference will be given to those candidates with a strong background in the areas of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geodesy. M A Engineering Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Photogrammetric Technician/Stereocompiler with at least 2 years of experience to perform 3D feature extraction using softcopy stereo photogrammetry. Experience with Socet Set softcopy is preferred but not exclusive. Full benefits package, competitive wages and opportunity for overtime hours. Position is located in the Dulles/Reston, Virginia area.

Mandatory Position Requirements

  • Eyesight vision capability to accurately see and measure 3-D imagery
  • Good hand eye (both hands) coordination to manipulate specialized computer mouse

  • Attention to detail and ability to stay focused
  • Weekend and overtime work may be required
  • Ability to work independent of others and an analytical thought process - reason and deduction.

Position Summary:
This position will report directly to the Director of Aerial Mapping Department Manager and will be responsible for the development and growth of new business for Aerial Mapping, Mobile Mapping and LiDAR opportunities across the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive maximum sales/business development efforts with new and existing clients using a variety of sales methods including:  cold calling, relationship building, tradeshows, active participation in industry associations, etc.

Remote Sensing Subject Matter Expert

BAE Systems is seeking remote sensing scientists with expertise in the Spectral, Thermal, SAR, and/or Lidar disciplines.  Qualified candidates will work in a team environment with other multidisciplinary remote sensing scientists and engineers supporting image and data analysts.  The Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will provide scientific analysis and products from the exploitation of multispectral, hyperspectral, SAR, thermal, and/or lidar data sources.   Candidates will use their knowledge of data processing and sensor phenomenology to accurately exploit data and disseminate reporting.  Experience in the use of current TPED processes to task, process, exploit, and distribute data as well as design new TPED processes for future sensors is also required.  The SMEs shall provide results to the customer in the requested format and content through Web dissemination, databases, or direct reporting to analysts and management.  Occasional ad-hoc, informational presentations to analysts and managers will be needed to brief the capabilities and benefits of Spectral data.  The SMEs will support and participate in community exploitation and technology forums on a limited, ad-hoc basis and may be required to present technical information or case studies resulting from operational support requests.  Additional customer support includes monitoring the community and industry for new near-term technologies that can be inserted for operational use.  

Experience with remote sensing exploitation tools such as Remote View, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, IDL, CaseExecutive, COMET, ENVI, SOCET GXP, ArcGIS, or other similar software packages is strongly encouraged. A degree in physics, geology, chemistry, forestry, or geography is strongly encouraged.

* Knowledge of airborne survey & mapping, including photogrammetry

* Channel Marketing/Distributor Relations/Alliances experience is an asset

* Verbal, listening, written, presentation, telephone and interpersonal skills
