The ASPRS Western Great Lakes Region is comprised of public, private, and academic professionals dedicated to the advancement of the geospatial profession. WGL includes Northern Illinois, Indiana, Upper Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Some of you may be aware from previous regional newsletter/emails, Senate Bill 194/Assembly Bill 271 is being debated before the Wisconsin Legislature about surveying and mapping licensure and practice.   ASPRS HQ as well as MAPPS have been commenting on this bill as you can see in this letter from ASPRS Executive Director James Plasker to the bills committee members. Dave Hart, President of Continental Mapping and Pat Olson, Aerometric have also testified this past week before a senate hearing. If this bill will have an impact on your operations, you may want to act on this in some form. If you have any questions or comments, contact Dave Hart (dhart@continentalmapping.com), and Pat Olson (polson@aerometric.com) since they are directly involved in this matter.
