ASPRS and MAPPS to Sponsor Fall 2003 Conference
with focus on
DIGITAL TERRAIN DATA AND 3-D VISUALIZATION

ASPRS: The Imaging & Geospatial Information Society (ASPRS) and the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) are jointly planning a Fall 2003 Conference entitled "Digital Terrain Data and 3-D Visualization." This program will be held in Charleston, South Carolina, October 28-30, 2003. Building on the successful joint digital elevation model (DEM) conference held in Florida in October 2001, the conference format will open with a keynote address, then continue with technical sessions covering applications, standards, technologies, and how to make it work for the end user. There will be an accompanying poster session and vendor exhibits as well. A number of dynamic workshops will precede the conference on October 25-27.

Representing ASPRS as co-chair for this conference will be Kenneth J. Osborn, USGS, Sacramento, California. Representing MAPPS as co-chair will be Michael E. Bullock, Intermap Technologies, Inc., Englewood, Colorado.

The new Charleston Convention Center has been chosen as the conference site with the adjoining Embassy Suites Hotel serving as the conference headquarters.

The call for presentations and more details of the conference, as they become available, will be posted on the ASPRS website at http://www.asprs.org and the MAPPS website at www.mapps.org.

Founded in 1934, ASPRS is an international professional organization of 7,000 geospatial data professionals. ASPRS is devoted to advancing knowledge and improving understanding of the mapping sciences to promote responsible application of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems and supporting technologies.
