(SAC)!
T
he beginning of a new school year is upon us, and we would like to welcome
back all new and returning students. The SAC is currently planning events
for the February 2018 joint ILMF/ASPRS Conference in Denver, Colorado.

The SAC organized conference sessions are our opportu-
nity to highlight student research. The SAC presents both
a poster session and paper session. The theme for these
sessions will be announced in the near future. Abstracts for
oral presentations and posters can be submitted through the
link below.
We encourage all studentmembers of ASPRS to submit abstracts

As the semester begins, now is a good time to begin think-
ing about certification with ASPRS. For students, ASPRS
offers the Geospatial Intern Certification which requires the
pursuit of a degree in spatial science, but does not require on
the job experience. The certification must be applied for in
the final semester before graduating. Designations include
Photogrammetrist, Mapping Scientist in Remote Sensing,
GIS/LIS, Lidar and UAS.
A link to the application is provided here:

ASPRS provides many scholarships and awards valued at
over $50,000 for student members. The recipients are pre-
sented their awards at the annual conference each year. The
awards are wide ranging including student travel grants,
paper awards, and a data grant of high-resolution digital sat-
ellite imagery. This is a great way to get recognition for your
hard work.
The applications are opened in the fall and close in November
and will be posted at
