ASPRS is in the process of developing guidelines for the procurement of geospatial services and products. This effort is being undertaken with private state and federal representation from ASPRS membership in coordination with the Coalition of Geospatial Organizations (COGO) and their member organizations. The Guideline for the Procurement of Commercial Geospatial Mapping Products is intended to be a companion document to the Guideline for the Procurement of Professional Geospatial Mapping Services previously adopted by ASPRS.
The Guideline for the Procurement of Commercial Geospatial Mapping Products will provide clarification on what constitutes a commercial geospatial mapping product and how procurement of products is differentiated from procurement of professional services. The guideline is currently in draft form and available for review and comment; ASPRS welcomes input to this process.
