Division Activity Summary


This table describes the current projects of each ASPRS Division.  The Division Directors developed it in 2010 in order to track and avoid duplication of efforts between Divisions working on product standards, such as ASPRS Accuracy Standards  for Large Scale Mapping and Lidar Best Practices.  Division Directors and members can also use it to see who is leading which projects and project status, i.e. preliminary discussions, work group formed, document published, etc.  It will generally be updated twice yearly, after the Spring and Fall National ASPRS conferences.

Cooperative Extensions / Supplements to LAS Lidar Lidar Chris McGlone,
Development of a supplement to LAS to support Bathymetric specifications initially with other extensions to follow. Committee work underway on Bathymetric extensions.  6 months of public vetting including the JALBTCX community.  This supplement will serve as the example for future supplements/extensions to the base LAS specification.
LAS Validation Software Lidar Lidar Lewis Graham, lgraham@geocue.com  Development of an ASPRS tool for the validation of compliance to LAS specifications for lidar data. RFP has been released to procure development services for the LAS Validation tool.  Phase 1 – validation.  Potential Phase 2 – correction options.
