September 15-17, 2014. KY GIS Conference, Louisville, KY. For more information, visit http://kampro.org
The 2014 KY GIS Conference (http://kampro.org) will be held at the Galt House in Louisville between Monday September 15th and Wednesday September 17th . Workshops are going to be held on Monday, September 15th exclusively.
This rich workshop program offers an opportunity for training and professional development to several geospatial and mapping professionals: http://kampro.org/ky-gis-conference/workshops/ .
The workshops have been designed with content level and information quality, pricing and accessibility in mind – to serve a large technical and professional audience in Kentucky and adjoining states.
This is a great opportunity for CMSs to maintain their skills current and to obtain credits for recertification!
Several workshops are of interest, as they are brand new, such as for example the Esri Story Map Competition. This GIS technology is being used not only to showcase government business, but also to increase business and location intelligence: http://www.esri.com/industries/business/retail . We do have some Kentucky examples on this already: http://kygeonet.ky.gov/govmaps/KyStoryMapsGallery/
Other workshops deal with technology areas of increasing interest such as: Open Source GIS (a URISA – certified workshop by Sara Yurman), mobile GIS (both workshops are hands-on) and 3D Mapping with City Scape.
Detailed information on the workshops can be found here: http://kampro.org/ky-gis-conference/workshops/
