exam), and formerly the ASPRS
Representative to the Council of Engineering
and Scientific Specialty Boards (accreditation
of science-based certification programs).
He was active with ISPRS serving as a
Working Group Chair 2000 to 2004, active
member of Commission I, and elected to
Council as the Treasurer for 2008-2012 and
the recipient of the ISPRS Carl Pulfrich
Award, 2011
Renslow served as the Editor-in-Chief and
contributing author for the
ASPRS Manual
of Airborne Topographic Lidar
published
in September 2012. He is also the technical
editor of the new
ASPRS Manual of Remote
Sensing, 6th edition
.
He is an ASPRS Fellow (2002), Emeritus
member, Certified Photogrammetrist (#1073)
and an Oregon Registered Professional
Photogrammetrist (#78313RPP).
Renslowhas received the Birdseye President’s
Citation – 1999; a Conference Management
Award for GIS’87 in 1998; Presidential
Citations for Meritorious Service- 1988, 1989,
1991; ASPRS Merit Award - 1994, 1997,
1998; ASPRS Presidential Citations - 1998,
2003, 2004; he was the first recipient of the
Outstanding Workshop Instructor Award,
2007; the ERDAS Award for Best Scientific
Paper in Remote Sensing, 2001, 3rd Place
and the ASPRS Outstanding Service Award,
2005 and 2015.
Initiated in 1937, this life-time award is
given in recognition of individuals who have
rendered distinguished service to ASPRS
and/or who have attained distinction
in advancing the science and use of the
geospatial information sciences. It is awarded
for professional excellence and for at least 20
years of service to ASPRS and consists of a
plaque and a certificate.
