Terry Keating - ASPRS President
Terry Keating.

On behalf of ASPRS: The Imaging & Geospatial Information Society, I wish to welcome you to Anchorage and our Annual Conference and Exhibition. I am certain that this will be an exciting and worthwhile event for you, and for the profession as a whole. This week offers you an exceptional opportunity to attend workshops and user group meetings, participate in ASPRS Committee and Division activities, experience the keynote and educational sessions, explore the state-of-thetechnology in the Exhibition Hall, and enjoy a variety of social events including a very unique train ride. This is an exciting time for all of us and for ASPRS. The members of ASPRS’ Alaska Region are to be congratulated for hosting this meeting. As you encounter these hard-working individuals this week, please take a few moments to thank them for their untiring efforts in organizing and executing this extraordinarily complex event. When I took office as President of ASPRS, I challenged all of our members to become more active in our Society’s regions, divisions, committees and conferences. Given the increased level of commitment I have seen over the past year and the diversity of attendees here in Anchorage, I sincerely believe that many of you accepted this challenge. This is the sort of participation that is needed to keep our Society in the forefront and continue in our role as the premier organization representing our industry. This conference offers a marvelous array of technical and poster sessions that are being presented to expand your knowledge base in your chosen field within the disciplines of imaging and geospatial information. These sessions, along with all the other educational conference offerings, have been carefully organized to provide the best learning experience possible for conference attendees. I also hope that you take full advantage of the professional networking opportunities that the various breaks, interludes, and social gatherings will provide. Again, I thank you all for giving me the privilege of serving as President and please continue your good works. If I can be any service to any of you in any way in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me. Enjoy this wonderful conference and I’ll see you throughout the week.

Terry Keating.
